Every Kennecott Minerals operation will integrate sustainable development practices into its business plan, from project inception to closure, to include the following:

• Ensure that health, safety and environmental protection, together with community values, are addressed in business plans and decision-making processes for exploration, mine development, operating procedures and reclamation and closure activities.
• Identify and enhance social and economic sustainable development opportunities in surrounding communities by engaging community stakeholders throughout the entire life cycle of the mining operation and beyond.
• Establish baseline measures, target and reporting requirements to document sustainable development performance.
• Implement sustainable development training as appropriate.
• Verify and publicly report on sustainable development activities, including progress on meeting performance targets and action plans for continuous improvement.
• Support education and researchers activities dedicated to identifying best practices to protect the health and safety of people and the environment.
• Develop and implement a health, safety and environmental management system that incorporate clear guide lines and high standards to address sustainable development practices, including internal and external audits and reviews.
