Woodland Road

A new road to meet the transportation needs of Marquette County

New north/south all-season road built primarily on existing corridor of unpaved roads, trails, and county roads in west Marquette County

Woodland Road LLC

A new company formed to improve transportation infrastructure needed to support growing operations in west and north Marquette County. Woodland Road LLC includes Kennecott Eagle Minerals Company, A. Lindberg & Sons, John Jilbert, and Michigan Forest Products Council.

Woodland Road

  • New north/south all-season road built primarily on existing corridor of unpaved roads, trails, and county roads in west Marquette County
  • Private multi-use/multi-commercial road
  • 22 miles, spanning Humboldt, Champion, Ely, Michigamme Townships
  • Connect U.S. 41/M-28 in the Humboldt area with Triple A Road in Champion Township
  • Construction and maintenance funded by Woodland Road LLC at no cost to Marquette County
  • Projected opening late 2013
  • Engineering/design by A. Lindberg & Sons

  • Michigan Department of Environmental Quality for environmental aspects and mitigation plan
  • Marquette County Road Commission for upgrades to some existing county roads incorporated into the new Woodland Road
